Great Tools - Why we love DROPBOX and you should too !!

A short story

Let me start this one with a small problem everyone of us face countless number of times i.e repeatedly forgetting your USB flash drive which can be very frustrating and irritating at times. A certain student at MIT was also plagued with the same problem and begun looking for something that would overcome this issue and he found that existing services at his time suffered the problem suffered problems with Internet latency, large files, bugs, or just made him think too much. Then he made a service that solved the above problem and soon realized that it cloud be used by others to tackle similar issues. The man we are talking about is Drew Houston and the service he created was Dropbox.

The File Sharing Problem

Sharing files over the internet is one of the major problems everyone faces , now there are some ways out of it we could use Email but most of the service are not free and have a attachment limit of 20 MB and only a limited type of files can be attached and then there is the issue of organizing your content which is not possible via emails.
The other way out of it could be using hosting servers to manage your data but it might punch a big hole in your pocket and requires a lot of technical overhead and know how and the problem still persists.

Dropbox saves the day !!

Dropbox has simplified these problems to such a great extent that you hard to imagine your life without it. Sharing files between people is now as easy as copying it in a folder. So no more keeping yourself updated about complex protocols, no more annoying desktop application , managing accounts and people , and worrying about who has access to what. With Dropbox it is all a matter of simply copying right documents in the right folder and BOOM!!  Your work is done. You can add/remove people to the shared folder to easily make up for changes in your team.

Now Drop it on the GO !

Dropbox - Ubiquitous Storage Solution

Dropbox works across all platforms like Windows, Mac OSX, IOS, Android, and Blackberry OS , Symbian etc so it is fully cross platform compatible, no matter what platform you can still use Dropbox. Dropbox also comes with a mobile app so u can access all your documents on the fly with just your smartphone. The most important feature that u get with dropbox is that all your data gets backed up on the cloud so even if your hard drive gets wiped or you switch computers all you got to do is just log in to your account and sync all your files from the cloud or you can selectively download some files from the web browser.
